MODEL SHOP REPORTS • Purpose • Reduce the cost of P2 Opportunity Assessments • Provide enough information to conduct P2 opportunity assessments with in-house personnel • Reduce the cost of doing OAs by contract • Identify typical pollution reduction opportunities for specific shops/processes • Catalog of Pollution Prevention Opportunities • Guide one through the OA process

  3. MODEL SHOP REPORTS • Background • E.O. 12856 mandated all bases conduct PPOAs • Similar opportunities identified at different bases with different missions • “Reinventing the wheel” at each base • Duplication of effort • Develop summary of available opportunities already identified

MODEL SHOP REPORTS • Civil Engineering Model Shop Report • Facility Maintenance • Covers all shops in Operations Branch • Based on Detailed OA of Offutt CE Squadron • Validation Visits conducted at 4 other bases • Barksdale AFB (ACC) • Shaw AFB (ACC) • New Castle Airport (Delaware Air National Guard) • Dover AFB (AMC)

MODEL SHOP REPORTS • Dinning Hall Report • Will address P2 opportunities at dinning/food service facilities • Retail Sales Report • Will address P2 opportunities at Commissaries, BX, Shoppet, etc. • Study currently underway at Lackland, McChord, & Wright-Patterson AFBs • Reports will be released in July 1997

MODEL SHOP REPORTS • Conclusion • A valuable tool for conducting PPOAs and reducing their cost • Transportation & Flightline CE & Pesticide Reduction Reports currently available • Retail Sales and Dinning Hall Reports to be released in July 97 • More reports to come in future • Always looking for inputs, improvements & suggestions to improve reports
