  2. ISSUE • In Darfur, Sudan there is an ongoing genocide led by Arab militias raping, torturing, and murdering innocent Africans and other minority groups. The Arab militias are attempting to destroy all of the Africans in Sudan so that the Arabs gain the majority of power in all of Sudan. The President of Sudan, Omar Al-Bashir, has been charged with genocide, and war crimes and crimes against humanity due to the Darfur Genocide.

  4. Argument • The Darfur genocide is wrong and more should be done to prevent it. Too many Africans are suffering and being killed in Darfur and not enough people are trying to bring to an end to it.

FACTS • International community has organizations to help the Africans in Darfur. • The US declined the independent power of the courts so that there was no possible way the American soldiers would get involved in war with the government of Sudan and the Arab militia. • More than 100 Africans continue to die every day in Darfur. • The genocide has displaced over 2,500,000 people. • The total deaths of the genocide so far range from 100,000 to 350,000. • The Sudan president (Omar Al-Bashir) denies that the Darfur genocide is occurring. • The Obama Administration has tried to work with the government of Sudan to try to stop the killings, but they haven't agreed to anything.

  7. SUPPORTING IDEAS • Every day, Africans in Darfur are being starved to death, being raped, by vicious soldiers and militia. Most of the victims are women and children. • Though, the victims in Darfur are getting help through organizations and some celebrities from the United States have gone over to Sudan and be of assistance to the Africans.
