  3. There is a tab in my portfolio reads “Quality Work” • Will be given one particular assignment which is identified as a “Quality Work” • Rubric was developed to assure that all students would be graded on the same criteria • Each you must submit at least four pieces of work to your portfolio • Required to have a minimum of four

There is a tab in my portfolio reads “Quality Work” • By the time you graduate you must have at least one QW from: • English or Social Studies Class • Math, Science or Technology Class • Fine Arts, Occupational Education, PE, or World Language Class • Any course of your choosing • If you do not have four quality works to submit each year, you must have at least one QW and three Best Efforts

  5. Tell me more about this Best Effort section! • If you have not met the “four yearly assignment” requirement in the QW section • One of which you are proud and is of significant enough importance to be added to the portfolio • Write a brief reflection about why you feel that this is your Best Effort

  6. What goes in the tab labeled “Future Goals, etc…” • Each year you will complete a “Career Planning Checklist” • Each year, when you complete the form it should be put in your portfolio • Also where you will keep your completed notes form College and Career Fair, write-ups of any job shadows or internships

  7. What goes in the section labeled “Benchmark Proficiencies” • Copy of your WASL scores • You will put in a copy of your scores

  8. “Education and Advanced Training” • Copy of your latest transcript • Put evidence of other classes you have taken outside of school • Vocational training program, Dances, Acting, Karate, Religious education, CPR training, Food Service handlers licenses

  9. “Personal and Individual Achievement” • Put all of the stuff that you are proud of • This is also the place where you can put class work which is neither QW or BE

  10. What if I don’t have any of this stuff? • Start getting involved in some activities • Write a reflection about the things that you have done that have given you a sense of accomplishment • Reflection should be put in the portfolio

  11. “Leadership and Work Experience” • Growing list of activities in which you have taken a leadership position and jobs that you have held • Good to get letters of recommendations from employers and statements of support from the adult leaders of organizations

  12. What is left to put in School and Community Service? • All about service • You will document the ways in which you have made this a better school, a better community, a better world
