Mise -en-scene . Micro and Macro elements. We use micro and macro elements while making a movie. The macro elements are NARRITVE, REPRESENTATION and GENRE Them micro elements are FILMIC LANGUAGE and THEORIES.

Micro and Macro elements • We use micro and macro elements while making a movie. • The macro elements are NARRITVE, REPRESENTATION and GENRE • Them micro elements are FILMIC LANGUAGE and THEORIES. • The 5 main micro elements are the: mise-en-scene, performance, cinematography, editing and sound.

  3. Micro elements: Filmic language The filmic language contains: • Construction • Setting • Props • Camera angles • Script • Editing

  4. Mise-en-scene • Mise-en-scene is a French word which means “putting on stage” • The visual elements on film: • Settings • Lightning/colour • Costume and make-up • Character expression and movement • Performance (physical expression, vocal delivery and interaction between performers.)

  5. Integral parts of mise-en-scene • Production design • Studio • Set design • Off screen place

  6. Other elements in mise-en-scene • Icon: It is also an elements of mise-en-scene • The study of the use icons is called iconography • The mise-en-scene is a non-verbal code which help us audiences to understand what happening

  7. Iconography • It is a part of mise-en-scene • All around costumes and props within the scene • The director decide about the costumes and props
