  1. XOS2 Exoskeleton Raytheon/SARCOS By Tim Brown

  2. What is the xOS2? • Unlike the Iron Man suit, this suit only uses the arms and legs. • Provides an enormous jump in user strength while allowing for acute sensitivity for lesser tasks. • Designed for the military • Battle field use • Other theater use

  3. History • Hardiman suit • General Electric and US Military • 1960’s • Made lifting 200lbs feel like 10lbs • Failure • Weighed 1500lbs • Slave-master work system • Could only move 2.5 ft/s • Never tested with a human inside

  4. How It Works • Titanium, carbon fiber plates, or carbon nanotubes • Hydraulic systems • Computer systems • Limb motion/range awareness • Multi speed motors

  5. Current State • Allows user to lift heavy weight repeatedly without strain • Lifts with a 17:1 weight ratio • Combat and Logistics versions • Combat is primarily legs • Logistics is “workhorse” style • Can run 3 mph with agility • Weighs 150lbs • Only runs on power tether

  6. Future Portable energy (fuel tank, not battery) Lowered weight Increased strength Lowered cost Flying?
