  3. Geography Indonesia, located in South-East Asia, is made up of over 17, 500 islands, the main ones being Sumatra, Sulawesi, Java, Irian Jaya, Kalimantan and Bali. With a massive 248, 216, 193 people, only 13,000 islands are inhabited. The capital city of Indonesia is Jakarta, and there are over 120 volcanoes dotting the islands.

  4. Economy Indonesian currency is the Rupiah (RP), and the Australian Dollar is equivalent to 9,940.44 RP. The main export products in Indonesia are shrimp, coffee, CPO, cacao, rubber and rubber products, textile and garment, footwear, electronics, motorcycle components and furniture.

  5. Environment The flora of Indonesia consists of many unique varieties of tropical plants. Indonesia has more than 30,000 species of flowers, including thousands of different orchids, hibiscus, wax ginger flower and rhododendrons. Hibiscus Wax ginger flower Rhododendrons

  7. Environment The climate of Indonesia is almost entirely tropical, with the temperature varying little from season to season. The difference between the longest day and the shortest day of the year is only forty-eight minutes, which allows crops to be grown all year round.Usually, the weather is hot and humid. Unlike us with four seasons, Indonesian climate is divided into two: dry and rainy seasons.

  8. Culture In Indonesia, there are over 300 different ethnic groups, the main ones being Javanese, Sundanese, Malay, Chinese and Madurese. The Indonesian diet is mainly made out of fish, rice, chicken, vegetablesand sometimes soup. Over 700 languages are spoken in Indonesia, and some of the legends Indonesian Arts are based on are the story of TimunEmas and the Princess and Monkey.

  9. History In the past, the Netherlands and Japan have ruled Indonesia. In 1945, Indonesia declared independence from the Dutch empire. After an armed conflict, the Netherlands recognized Indonesia as a sovereign nation.

  10. Religion Themain four religions in Indonesia are Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam and Christianity.
