  2. In your groups Discuss your assigned pair and determine what these characters reveal about Friel’s message about Cultural Relativism. (Hint: consider how each character feels about his/her own culture and reacts to other cultures/change.) Jimmy/Hugh Manus/Maire Yolland/Lancey Owen/Manus Cultural Relativism= no right and no wrong

  3. Friel’s Message What is Friel saying about what happens when two cultures interact/come into conflict? What might his position be on Cultural Relativism? To what extent would he agree with Rachels’ view on Cultural Relativism?
