  2. CONTEMPORARY MANAGEMENT Dr. Hatem ELBitar FORCE FIELD ANALYSIS What's Kurt Lewin's Force Field Analysis? It's one of great and effective change management tools used to understand what's needed to manage a change in both personal and organizational environments Kurt Lewin wrote that "An issue is held in balance by the interaction of two opposing sets of forces - those seeking to promote change (driving forces) and those attempting to maintain the status quo (restraining Forces)" So before change the force field is in equilibrium between forces favorable to change and those resisting it

What Kurt Lew than restraining forces, the status quo or equilibrium will change in proposes is that whenever driving forces are stronger Successful change is achieved by either strengthening the driving forces or weakening the restraining forces The force field analysis integrates with Lewin’s three stage theory of change as you work towards unfreezing the existing equilibrium, moving towards the desired change, and then freezing the change at the new level so that a new equilibrium exists that resists further change Using the Force Field Analysis Define the change you want to see: Write down the goal or vision of a future desired state.. Define and have a Mind Map of the Driving Forces :( those that are favorable to change). Define and have a Mind Map of the Restraining Forces: (those that are unfavorable to, or oppose change).

  4. Evaluate the Driving and Restraining forces: We'll do this by rating each force,( Driving forces from weak + to strong +++ ) and ( Restraining forces from weak - to strong - - - ) . Review the forces: Decide which of the forces have some flexibility for change or which can be influenced. Strategies: Create a strategy to strengthen the driving forces or weaken the restraining forces, or both. Priorities of action steps: What action steps can you take that will achieve the greatest impact? Identify the resources you will need and decide how to implement the action steps and the best and ideal timing for change 1-We want to change the way of thinking of the Egyptian people to a positive and constructive way 2- The Driving Forces: The spirit of change which is found in a lot of people + + The attempts from the religious leaders to implant the positive ideas and principles + + The way of developing education system + The role of the government in all fields to support the change + The attempts to communicate through media schools and universities the notion of new and decent life which come with a real change + 3- The Restraining Forces: A catastrophic education system and week roles of schools and universities + + +

  5. The state of chaos which is found nowadays an all fields + + + The security status which is not stable + + + The negative role of media which brings mindless violence and shameful models +++ The self interested people who oppose any change for the status quo +++ 4- What I see is that's not the decent and perfect time for the change because of therestraining driving forces are much stronger than the driving forces and we must strengthen the driving forces or weaken the restraining forces at the same time and try to create factors that help us in all fields 5-we can strengthen the driving forces through many ways like the development of the education system which is the main and important way to build the characters of nations , also through the media which can direct and change the culture of the people
