  3. Why we study Bank and Other Financial Institution? Bank is one of important financial institution, to keep our money we must trusted somebody or some institution like a banks. Government using banks to control our monetary regulation. The functions of banks in Indonesia are basically as financial intermediary that take deposits from surplus units and channel financing to deficit units.

  4. Other Financial Institution Indonesia economy growth building from many institution not only in banking or monetary regulation but also in other financial institution like : • Capital market • Pawnshop • Valas • Cooperative • Leasing • Insurance

  5. Money The function of money • Something a seller will accept in exchange for a product or service • Without money people would have to barter, a much more complicated process involving a double coincedance of wants • Helps to accurate financial records • It is used as a store of value

  6. Characteristics of money • Durable  tahan lama • Portable mudah dibawa • Divisible  mudah dibagi • Must have stable value • Must be accepted by the sellers and buyers in community
