  3. Budded Cross or Apostles Cross The three “buds” on each arm of the cross are used to mean: • The Holy Trinity • The virtues of Faith, Hope and Love Counted together, the 12 buds represent he 12 apostles (disciples), or followers of Jesus. Ali McNamara, Battle Primary School

  4. Celtic Cross The Celts were originally pagans. The Celtic cross combines the Christian cross with ancient pagan symbols. The circle represents the circle of life. Ali McNamara, Battle Primary School

  5. Russian Orthodox Cross The Russian Orthodox cross has three bars. The top bar represents a sign placed over Jesus' head. The slanted bar probably represents St. Andrew's cross (which looks like an X). St. Andrew is believed to have introduced Christianity to Russia. Ali McNamara, Battle Primary School

  6. Palm Cross The Palm Cross is used before Easter to remember Jesus' entry into Jerusalem just a few days before His crucifixion. It is made from palm leaves, because palm leaves were put in Jesus’ path as he entered Jerusalem. Ali McNamara, Battle Primary School
