  1. Engineered Solutions for Engineered Buildings Pressure independend control valves Dynamic balancing

  2. „Cocon Q “ Pressure independentdynamiccontrolvalve

  3. Main features: • Combination of automatic regulator and regulating valve • Constant, high valve authority • Adjustment / Control of the presetting with mounted actuator possible • Direct reading of presetting in l/h or m³/h • Good optical display of the presetting • Presetting is lead lockable • Pump setting optimization • Small dimensions, especially “Cocon QTZ” • Complete flow and size range • Multiple control options • For chilled ceiling, fan coil unit, air handling unit, convector, one-pipe-system, surface heating and cooling etc. „Cocon Q“ Valve for hydronic balancing and regulation of heating and cooling systems

  4. Combination of automatic regulator and regulating valve Legend 1. Diaphragm unit 2. Control valve 3. Balancing valve 4. Handwheel 5. Diaphragm 6. Sleeve “p1” is the inlet and “p3” the outlet pressure of the valve. “p2” is the pressure actuating the diaphragm unit and maintaining the differential pressure “p2” – “p3” at a constant level.

  5. Flow rate [0 – 100%] Differential pressure [bar] Linear valve characteristic when used with proportional actuators Valve stroke [%] Flow rate [0-100%] Combination of automatic regulator and regulating valve 1. Limit the flow rate with the handwheel • 2. Control the flow rate with the actuator • 2-point control • 3-point control • Proportional control (0-10V)

  6. Valve Authority P1 Valve Authority, a = P1 + P2 Ideal is a valve authority of a = 1

  7. Therefore, the valve authority of the regulating valve „Cocon Q“ amount to 100% (a = 1) Constant and high valve authority “Cocon Q” • „p2 – p3“ is kept constant, • even where high differential pressure variations („p1“ – „p3“) occur during part load conditions

  8. Adjustment / Control of the presettingwith mounted actuator possible

  9. „Cocon QTR“ and „Cocon „QFC“ „Cocon QTZ“ Direct reading of presetting in l/h or m³/h

  10. Good optical display of the presettingof the “Cocon QTZ” in different installation positions

  11. Presetting is lead lockable

  12. Check the min. differential pressure in the manual, depending on the presetting • Check the differential pressure of the “Cocon Q” with the “OV-DMC2” Save Energy due to optimum setting! Pump setting optimizatione.g. for the Cocon QTZ • Adjust the pump setting. Thus the last “Cocon QTZ” hasa bit more (e.g. 5%) than the min. differential pressure.

  13. Less space required to install the „Cocon QTZ“ with actuator Small dimensions, especially “Cocon QTZ”

  14. Flow and size range Q = Flow T = Thread Z = dezincification resistant brass Q = Flow T = Thread R = Bronze

  15. Flow and size range Q = Flow F = Flange C = Cast iron
