    10. Classroom Guidelines

    12. Guideline #1 Be in your assigned seat and working on the assigned bell work when the tardy bell rings.

    13. Guideline #2 Bring your binder and materials to school every day. And take your binder home every day.

    14. Guideline #3 Follow directions the first time they are given.

    15. Guideline #4 Treat each person in this room with respect and dignity.

    16. Guideline #5 Follow all procedures and policies as outlined in the CISD and Wilson Elementary School’s handbooks.

    17. Special Guideline This classroom is a “No Whining Zone”. That means that there will be no whining, for ANY reason. Everything that I do is in your best interest, so please…respect the “No Whining Zone” this year.

    18. Guideline Infractions

    19. Following Guidelines will result in: Verbal Acknowledgement A Stress free learning environment A pleasant and orderly classroom atmosphere Rewards—tickets, extra coupons Fun Friday

    20. Not Following Guidelines will result in: 1st—Warning and documentation—0 2nd—Mark and 5 minutes taken away from recess—0l 3rd—Mark and 10 minutes taken away from recess. 0ll --Action plan 4th—Mark and 15 minutes taken away from recess. 0lll --Disciplinary Referral

    21. Severe Clause Any student who uses profanity, fights, damages school property (this includes the property of the teacher and other students), or is disrespectful (as defined by the teacher) will be sent to the office IMMEDIATELY.

    22. Classroom Procedures

    23. Entering the room Please enter quietly Put away back pack Sharpen pencils Do your lunch count Have a seat Take out your materials Begin bell work assignment

    24. Getting your attention I will: Stand in front of the class Raise my hand Wait for everyone to be quiet Begin speaking

    25. Paper Heading Format plus unique number Place on all assignments unless told otherwise

    26. Student Responsibility Card This is for students who do not have the assigned homework Fill it out Sign and date it Turn it in with the homework papers

    28. Class Responsibilities There will be assigned jobs for our classroom, it is your responsibility to make sure your job gets done

    29. Class Library Respect class library Put the books back in the correct basket Always have a book to read at your desk

    30. Finish Classwork Early “What do I do next?”

    31. What Do I Do Next? Activities Work on unfinished assignments Read your “choice” novel Work on your workstations FAST math

    32. Turning in papers Place your paper on the desk next to you. Right side If/When you receive a paper, place yours on top and continue passing the stack to your right Material managers will come by and collect all stacks and give them to me There are assigned trays in the back of the room designated for other class work papers

    33. Classroom Discussions PLEASE participate I want to hear what you have to say Make all questions and comments relevant to the current discussion If your question is off the topic, write it down and ask later.

    34. Moving around the room You must ask permission Do not ask during a classroom discussion unless it is an emergency You can not sharpen your pencils—only first thing in the morning (so have back ups)

    35. Class Dismissal The teacher dismisses you, not the bell Do not start packing up prior to the bell Wait until the teacher finishes and officially dismisses you with: “Have a nice day”
