  1. TYPES OF KEYS FOUND IN HOTEL

  2. KEYS EMERGENCY KEY This key unlocks all of the property's doors, including those that the guest has double-locked. The emergency keys can also double-lock a room against all other keys when in use. As a result, the emergency key should be maintained in a safe deposit box accessible exclusively to the general manager or security officer. GRAND MASTER KEY This key unlocks all of the hotel's rooms. If entrance to a room must be restricted, it can also double lock it. This key can be used in an emergency when a manager needs to access any or all areas of the hotel. It is maintained at the front desks of hotels under lock and key. MASTER KEY it is a type of keys that's maintained by the deputy or assistant housekeeper and can be used to enter any internal door that isn't double-locked.

  3. KEYS SECTION KEY These keys open all rooms in a hotel's work division. Because a supervisor may be required to inspect the work of more than one GRA, he or she may be issued many keys of this type. FLOOR MASTER KEY This key is given to a GRA to open the rooms on a floor that he or she is assigned to clean. The floor key unlocks all of the non-double-locked rooms on a specific floor. If the person is cleaning rooms on multiple floors or areas, he or she may require multiple floor keys. Floor keys usually also open the floor's storeroom. GUEST ROOM KEY These are the keys that are given to guests when they register. So long as the guest room is not double locked, the guest room key opens a single guest room. On guest room keys, many hotels do not indicate the hotel's name, address, or room number. This way, if a guest room key is misplaced or lost, it cannot be easily tracked back to the property. Instead, a code number that represents the room number is usually stamped on the key. The front desk keeps a master code list, which is used to recycle keys by altering the codes.

  4. KEYS SUPPLY KEY These keys are used by supervisory level workers in the hotel's servicing department to guarantee that inventories and equipment are safely stored when not in use. Such keys include store keys, office keys, and linen room keys, to name a few. hotelhousekeepnotes.blogspot.com
