Army AGR Pre-Retirement Brief So You Want to Retire???? • Must have 20 years of Active Service • BASD (Basic Active Service Date) - Add 20 years • diems.doc • Can stay until Retention Control Point (RCP) unless selected to REFRAD from Board Action • E6 – 23 years • E7 – 26 years • E8 – 29 years • E9 – 32 years

Army AGR Pre-Retirement Brief • Taking the leap!!!!! • Can start the process 12 months out • at least 6 months prior • Send a memo requesting retirement thru supervisor/chain of command to HRO along with an SF52 from your AO/Supervisor for retirement. • Attend a Pre-separation Briefing at LRAFB - DD Form 2648 Pre-separation Counseling Checklist • Attend 3 day ACAP (Army Career and Alumni Program) Briefing at LRAFB (optional)

  4. Army AGR Pre-Retirement Brief • Attend VA Briefing at LRAFB – fill out VA Form 21-526c Veteran’s Application for Compensation • Make an appointment with me to determine your last work day, permissive TDY, and transition leave and to review your DD Form 214

Army AGR Pre-Retirement Brief • Retirement Out-processing at Fort Sill, OK • You will receive Travel Orders and an Invitational Travel Order for your spouse • Day 1-Travel to Sill • Day 2-Outprocess • Day 3- Travel home • Appointments at Ft. Sill • Finance • Survivor Benefit Plan Brief • Final Out-processing

Army AGR Pre-Retirement Brief • Useful Information • Leave • Permissive TDY - You may be granted up to 20 days and can be used 5 days at a time • Transition Leave – Will start after out-processing at Ft. Sill and run until retirement date. NO BREAKS!!!
