  1. E-quals Induction Aim of Session: To introduce learners to the levels and content of the E-quals units To establish with the learners which units and which level they will be taking To introduce the learners to the schedule of sessions they will be doing

  2. What are E-Quals? • Equals are individually certificated units from City and Guilds • Each unit carries a point value and can contributes towards an overall qualification called ITQ • There is a set of units for each software application and area of ICT theory

  3. How Many Levels are there and which Level am I doing? Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 What software applications can I get an E-Qual in? • Word Processing • Spreadsheets • Power Point • Database • Internet • Email • Multi page websites • IT Principles

  4. Who issues the E-Quals Certificates? City and Guilds How will I achieve my Certificate? By completing the appropriate assessment

  5. How are the E-Quals Assignments assessed? Assignments are completed and marked by your tutor and achievements can be either a PASS, CREDIT or DISTINCTION How long is each Assignment and where, and how, will I do them? You will complete assignments in the course of your normal sessions when you and your tutor agree that your are ready to do them. Assignments take between 1½ and 2 Hours depending on the level. You may still pass the unit if you go over the time, but with a lower grade

  6. What Formal Learning and Training Takes place to enable me to complete the Assignments? During the course you will do exercises, activities and have one to one tutor help. You will also be able to monitor your progress against the syllabus

  7. What happens if I am unsuccessful with an Assignment? There are a number of different assignments for each unit and after reviewing the areas you weren’t successful in and revising these areas, you will then be able to complete a different assignment.

  8. When, and how, will I receive my E-Quals certificate(s)? Certificates are issued by City and Guilds and will be posted directly to your home address as soon as we receive them.
