  2. The Fund’s Objective ILO constituents strengthen their capacity to take positive action to increase gender equality in the world of work and within the constituents’ organizations.

Strategy All constituents take positive action to gender equality according to local needs in a given context and environment ILO provides technical support on the how’s For example: • Gender equality Action Plan prepared by the constituents Russian Federation,Yemen; • Strengthen gender expertise among staff /members Uganda,Bolivia,China; • Strengthen the gender dimension in legislation (employment, social protection) national policy frameworks. (PRSP processes,DWCP…)Morocco, Iran;

  5. ILO Gender Equality Partnership Fund • Prepare tools / materials on gender mainstreaming Hungary, ILO ; • Promote balanced representation, men/women, as leaders managers Peru, China: • Promote better employment opportunities for women Georgia, Iran.

  6. ILO Gender Equality Partnership Fund Knowledge Development • Tool kit & guidelines on HOW • to go about mainstreaming gender in: • Labour institutions, women machineries • Employers’ organizations • Trade unions • ILO projects / programmes • Both generic tools and adapted to local context

ILO Gender Equality Partnership Fund Looking ahead… • Assess & share experiences among • partners involved on promoting gender • equality in the world of work • Encourage extended networks and partnerships • Combine the Fund-activities with ILO Gender Audits reaching constituents • Extend activities to constituents in other countries • Seek new development partners

  8. ILO Gender Equality Partnership Fund And…not tomorrow…but one day…women and men will be equal in the world of work The Fund is contributing to this goal
