Before you play you need to learn the rules! • energy can not be created or destroyed • energy can only be passed on from one object to another • energy is a basic need for all biotics How do biotics get this energy • Producers – creates glucose from sun light • Consumers- eat producers • Decomposers – eat the leftovers

Consumers on a new level • Producers — bring energy from nonliving sources into the community • Primary consumers — eat the producers, which makes them herbivores in most communities • Secondary consumers — eat the primary consumers, which makes them carnivores • Tertiary consumers — eat the secondary consumers
