  1. HOW TO ACE VIRTUAL INTERVIEWS As in-person interviews were discontinued due to restrictions imposed by the COVID 19 pandemic, thousands of students applying for the best private colleges in India and professionals need to learn how to conduct interviews with the most effective and efficient video interviews available today. According to an April 2020 Gartner survey, 86% of companies use new virtual technologies to interview candidates all the time. What do you have to do differently in the age of virtual interviews and what can you do to better position yourself for success? Here are some tips on how to make the best impression in your video interviews to show that you are well suited for the role. Virtual is the Way Now that so many of us work remotely and use Zoom and other platforms for meetings, our ability to see people in their home environment and notice their interactions with other people and their work environment has grown. During the interview, it is nice to be in your living room, but try to present yourself as neutral and professional as possible. You want your words, conversations and experiences to speak most strongly about your qualifications and suitability for the job. Many people use virtual backgrounds and choose photos that appear in the background, but for interviews, we suggest going the more authentic route by showing the actual space in which you are speaking. Virtual backgrounds often create a false sense of authenticity that is not effective for interviews, especially if you’re applying for private colleges in Gurgaon. Even if you do your interview at home, remember to dress as you would do if you were to be met in person, and judge your suitability for the role. Technical Aspects Invest in high-quality audio and video equipment, such as a sound system, sound effects and video camera, as well as an audio/video recorder. Also, test your audio and video data before the interview, and if your interviewer is using a platform you did not use before, make sure you download an app first and run a test run before the interview. Make sure the camera is at the right angle with your face and shoulders and arrive in time for the video meeting. Just like in a personal conversation, you want to show through your voice and body language that you are interested, committed, professional and speak. Knowing that there will be significant interruptions and distractions during the time allotted for the interview, you can see if you can change your schedule for the interview to a time when interruptions are minimal.

  2. Make sure you are engaging and interested and make strong eye contact with them, especially in the first few seconds of the interview. Try not to look away and not to look at your notes too often, but try. Eye contact reveals how you feel and what you think your interviewer shares with you and how they feel about you. Pay attention to your body language, facial expressions and voice so that you can fully prepare for the interview. Do your research beforehand: If you share your background, experience and personal background with the senior HR manager, you will understand what he/she is looking for in the role. It's a great opportunity to talk about your strengths and why you are potentially very well suited for the roles. Have written keywords and bullets in front of you that show you how to use your great talents and skills and how to successfully get into work. Be Your Best Self When you do interviews, practice with a professional interviewer, whether you are at an online meeting or an interview for beginners. If you interview yourself, you should practice at least once a week for a maximum of two weeks. Have a friend or coaching buddy play your interview, record your online meetings and also record videos of your interviews with your friends and coaches. Have a plan to ask the difficult questions that many interviewers will ask and get a good idea of how you will answer the questions. Also, make clear what you should not ask during the interview and what you should ask. Have a list of questions you want to cover so you can get a sense of what a fit really would be, emotionally and functionally. Do this so that you can bring your highest and best self forward and present your achievements and desires as a candidate who can shine through. Understand that your values, interests, needs and goals are also crucial and that you are not only a candidate for a position, but also for the job. Get access to all the information you need to make a clear assessment of whether you are right for the next career or life step. With this, you’re good to go!
