  1. SUMMARY 1.identifying, exploring and clarifying questions and issues 2.gathering, organising and processing information 3.transferring knowledge into new contexts. SUMMARY 1.applying logical and inventive reasoning 2.drawing conclusions and designing a course of action. SUMMARY 1.imagining possibilities and considering alternatives 2. seeking and creating innovative pathways and solutions 3.suspending judgment to visualise possibilities SUMMARY 1.reflecting on thinking (metacognition) 2reflecting on procedures and products. Four Organising Elements for Critical and creative thinking

  2. This element sees students analysing, synthesising and applying logic and inventive reasoning, evaluating ideas and information, and drawing conclusions and designing a course of action. This element sees students demonstrating open mindedness, asking different kinds of questions and transferring knowledge across new contexts. This element sees students demonstrating the process of metacognition, categorising and linking ideas in innovative ways and reflecting on procedures and products. This element sees students demonstrating the ability to consider alternatives, seek innovative solutions and suspend judgement to visualise possibilities. • Teachers enable this learning by providing learning opportunities • to engage students in challenging learning opportunities, • to gather and process new information and expand their knowledge • that allows for discussions that opens up possibilities.
