  3. Victoria On the 24th of May 1819, a princess was born at Kensington Palace in London. Her name was Alexandrina Victoria. She was the daughter of the Duke of Kent and Victoria Mary-Louisa . She became queen when she was eighteen. She succeeded to her uncle William the fourth. She died on the twenty second of January in 1901 in her palace in Osborne when she was eighty one years old.She gave her name to this century. Queen Victoria on her throne

  8. Albert Albert, the younger son of the Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha was born in Schloss Rosenau in 1819. Albert was unpopular in England and often a source of suspicion People didn’t like Albert because he was a german. His interests in art, science, and industry spurred him to organize the Crystal Palace Exhibition in 1851, a highly profitable industrial convention. He died in 1861 from typhoid. Albert

  10. Life of Albert and Victoria On Feb 10th, 1840, only three years after taking the throne, Victoria took her first vow and married her cousin, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. Their relationship was one of great love and admiration. Together they bore nine children : Four sons and five daughters. Victoria adored Albert without reservation. And over the time, he became an indispensable aid to the queen, advising her on political and diplomatic affairs. She was thoroughly devoted to him, and completely submitted to his will. Victoria did nothing without her husband's approval. Albert assisted in her royal duties. Albert and Victoria's marriage

  23. The Widowed Queen • Albert & Victoria were married 21 years but On Dec. 14th 1861 Albert died from typhoid fever at Windsor Castle. • Victoria remained in self-imposed seclusion for ten years. This genuine, but obsessive mourning kept her occupied for the rest of her life and played an important role in the evolution of what would become the Victorian mentality. .
