Background ~ Massachusetts Bay Harbor Safety Committee Was formed in 2012 and officially chartered in March of 2013 with the Boston Marine Society designated as President and co-chaired by the COTP. Comprised of two distinct regional committees representing the North Shore and the Boston/South Shore regions of coastal Massachusetts stretching from the ports of Newburyport to Plymouth. The CG holds a non-voting status in this forum. CG Sector Boston Waterways Management Division serves as the Secretary.

  5. Provides a unified framework for addressing regional waterway safety issues based upon the input of the MB HSC. Originally developed from various risk mitigation strategies that resulted from the findings of a comprehensive Ports and Waterway Safety Assessment conducted in Boston in July of 2011. The Strategic Plan includes challenges or initiatives that can be addressed within a five year planning period. Overview of Massachusetts Bay Harbor Safety Committee Strategic Plan

  6. Contains challenges, initiatives, and risk mitigation strategies within the following focus areas: General Waterway, Commercial Vessels, Recreational Vessels, Shore Side, and Miscellaneous. The Strategic Plan includes challenges or initiatives that can be addressed within a five year planning period. A prioritization column is provided to afford the group a methodology to strategically focus attention and resources: Category “A” indicates that the HSC should focus on this challenge/initiative within the next 12 months, Category “B” should be addressed within 36 months, Category “C” items deserve the group’s attention within the five year cycle.
