UK Commission for Employment and Skills comparison of 20 published definitions; common factors:-

* personal communication skills* using numbers, words and technology* team-working* customer care* having a positive approach* ready to participate* accepting of new ideas* accepting of constructive criticism

Recruitment company, Reed, surveyed 800 companies to find their key staff qualities:* honesty and trustworthiness,* commitment,* adaptability,* accountability;

1212 of 1263 employers agreed that the desired mindset was preferable to possessing the complete skill-set.

Students’ thoughts on employability:-
