Harriet Tubman…..An amazing Woman • Harriet was born in the early 1820s • Soon after , only six years later, Harriet started working as a slave. • Then in 1849 Harriet escaped slavery and headed to Philadelphia. • Harriet also helped in the Civil War. She was a nurse , a cook, and a scout. • Once it was against the law to have salves Harriet raised money for black children to go to school . • In 1913 Harriet died on March 10th.

  3. During Harriet’s life… • The North and south of America fought against each other during the Civil war • Most states were against slavery • Lots Slaves wanted Harriet’s help to escape • Harriet also opened up her home for freed slaves.
