  2. There are around 10000 different species of birds worldwide.

  3. Birds have beaks and wings. But feathers make a bird different from other animals.

  4. Soft down keeps them warm. Feathers do many jobs for birds. Tail feathers are used for steering. Wing feathers allow them to fly.

  5. Birds feed mainly on insects, worms, fruit and seeds.

  6. Around 20% of bird species migrate long distances every year.

  7. In Spring birds are back to their nesting places.

  8. We can spot lots of birds in the forests and on the streets: chickadees or titmice, sparrows, rooks, crows, starlings pigeons and many others.
