  15. Turn and Talk What is a book that you have read recently that would be realistic fiction? Describe what makes the book realistic fiction.

  16. Collaborate… Work together to find three examples of details, dialogue, or illustrations from the story that show that it is realistic fiction.

  17. Vocabulary Strategy: Context Clues • context clues: other words and phrases in the sentence that can help determine the meanings of unknown words • Look for words and phrases separated by commas that are near the unfamiliar word. Eg. Archaeologists, who study artifacts, can provide clues about the past. • Look for words or phrases that may define or restate the unfamiliar word. Eg. He wore a royal diadem on his head while on the throne.
