Overview • 29 federally recognized tribes in WA • Tribes are sovereign nations within the US • Most Indian Reservations in WA are near I-5 or I-90 • Many tribes own land on/near the Puget Sound • Union Pacific and/or BNSF tracks run through a large number of Indian Reservations in WA • Efforts to diversify tribal economies are accelerating
