  32. Testimonials “The NHS CUI documentation was more focussed: Bang! Here‟s what it is! Here‟s what it does! Here‟s how you can use it!” Ben Price, Senior Systems Support Technician, North and Mid Hampshire Health Informatics Service “The NHS BDD will save us a lot of time. It used to take 3-4 hours to build a new image. It will now take about 10 minutes. We will also reduce the number of images required from 25 to about 8.” Kevin Sanders, IT Service Support Manager Hull and East Riding Health Informatics Service “Before WSUS, we were spending £7k each year on licences for a patch management tool. In the space of two weeks, now we have patch management for free.” Neil Harley, IT Infrastructure Engineer Sussex HIS To help provide answers, Stockport's technology provider, Microsoft partner Lynx Technology, suggested that Microsoft's infrastructure optimisation tool should be used to gather information about the PCT's systems, classify its current position and suggest upgrades. Using the tool helped Ms Cross to be more proactive, mapping out a series of steps to upgrade systems and make them more cost-effective. Caroline Cross IT Manager, Stockport PCT “Working with the NHS CUI Deliverables has given me the ability to manage PCs at GP practices where the only connectivity is an N3 connection. I can now deploy applications remotely, without having to visit 120 different sites.” Brian Lonsdale, IT Manager Newcastle and North Tyneside PCT “The GPO documentation was specific to the size and scale of an NHS Trust. In the past, consultants‟ recommendations have been too generic and more relevant to large commercial organisations.” Damian Lewsley, ICT Technical Consultant / Systems Manager, King‟s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust “Not only have we saved 250 person-hours of time, but we have also enabled our clinical staff to begin using the new system sooner than would otherwise have been possible.” Terry Sandford, IT Support Analyst, Leeds Mental Health Teaching NHS Trust We now have a better understanding of the technology and have identified more areas where we can improve our infrastructure. This will save us money by enabling administrators to focus on proactive tasks as the environment is in a more stable state.” Lance Cook, Senior Informatics Support Officer North East Lincolnshire PCT
