Simulation First Part: • Code developments including RF fields, microscopic approach for cooling, space charge • Input beam : 133Cs+ beam • Emittance : 75π.mm.mrad • Energy : 20keV • Intensity : 1µA • Cooling distance at 0.05mbar ~ 400mm • Output emittance < 1π.mm.mrad • Injection efficiency ~ 25 % • Acceptance ~ 35 π.mm.mrad Second Part: • Two cooling sections with different r0-radius • 5 mm and 3 mm + 4mm junction • Same RF on the two sections • Better injection efficiency (~ 100%) • Acceptance ~ 75 π.mm.mrad • Same cooling effect • Same emittance • Better overall efficiency
