SEE-ERA.NET PLUS Joint call Background • Follow up to the Pilot Joint Call in SEE-ERA.NET • ERA-NET PLUS: EC Top up of 33.00% for highest ranked projects • Call Secretariat (JCS by DLR) • Rule: 2 WBC+1EU minimum • 2 Stages procedure for selection and ranking of projects • EoI, review,Full Proposal, review • Selection and Ranking List assisted by Scientific Council 2

Application Phase and Full Proposal • Call launch 1 September 2009 • Open until 3 November 2009 • 190 EoI received by JCS at PT-DLR • 163 passed the eligibility check • 75 invited to Full Proposals • Invitation 15 January 2010 • Open until 15 March 2010 • 71 FP handed in • 70 eligible • 23 ICT+47 AGROFOOD • 210+36 reviews • SEE-ERA.NET Database for evaluators EoI Phase I Full Proposal Phase II RANKING LIST 4

Funding Decision 22/23 June 2010 in Belgrade: 20 projects • Not accepted by EC: 33% rule includes preparation+ management • New scenario during summer 2010: 23 projects • Agreed by all partners • The countries “overspending” EC top up had to reduce funding for partners form their countries with 21% • Acceptance by EC, Start for contracting of projects by JCS • Reconfirming contributions needed for formal EC letter (…AL/SR/BG) • Results • 23 projects = 23 coordinators + 74 partners • Call: 3005.19 T€ 2224.18 T€ National (74.01%) 781.01 T€ EC (25.99%) • Management + Preparation + Joint Call Secretariat 210.70 T€ EC till mid 2010 (Reporting) 120.35 T€ National Contributions till 03/2013 5
