  1. Even before trying to conceive, both couples and individuals may have concerns about their fertility health or may be keen to optimise their fertility for when the time comes. In most, this will offer reassurance and perhaps help them decide when to start trying. For some, factors may be identified that can be improved with simple measures. In a minority, a fertility issue may be identified that would normally only have been discovered on investigation, perhaps after several years of trying to conceive allowing earlier action and gynaecological treatment. On occasion, the results of these tests may lead us to recommend further investigation not included in the "fit for fertility" packages such as tests of tubal patency or a more formal male assessment if any sperm abnormalities are identified. "Fit for Fertility" Female Medical History: Overview of medical, surgical and family history to assess any factor that may impact on fertility. Lifestyle Advice: Assessment of lifestyle factors and advice on any modifications that may be of benefit. Body Mass Index: Assessment of BMI and advice on how this may, if at all, impact on fertility. AMH Blood Test: Vital marker of ovarian reserve. Antral Follicle count on Scan: Vital marker of ovarian reserve. Transvaginal Scan: As well as assessing your follicle count, a scan will identify other factors such as endometriosis or fibroids that may impact on fertility. Thyroid function: Thyroid disease can impact on cycle regularity, fertility and affect miscarriage risk so we assess with a simple blood test. Summary Report: You will receive copies of the test results as well as a detailed explanation of their meaning and any recommendations. "Fit for Fertility" Male Medical History: Overview of medical, surgical and family history to assess any factor that may impact on fertility. Lifestyle Advice: Assessment of lifestyle factors and advice on any modifications that may be of benefit.
