  3. Top 5 Places to visit Gujarat by Anjum Khanna

  4. Sabarmati Ashram It’s a superb place for a one day picnic. I Got to learn a lot about Gandhi's life and India's freedom movement. The museum was very well organized. The book shop also had books about great personalities. You found there many shops who sell all things related to Mahatma Gandhi. This Ashram has multiple sites like Magan Niwas, Hriday Kunj, Vinoba Mira Kutir, Nandini, Udyog Mandir, Somnath Chhatralaya, Upasana Mandir, Gandhi Memorial Museum etc. Ashram is located near the Riverfront. Here parking of every vehicle is available and there is no entry ticket for visiting. This place is very clean and full of vegetation and gives us a village feel. Hygiene and mask wearing was well enforced. Not too crowded either. Location: Gandhi Smarak Sangrahalaya, Ashram Rd, Ahmedabad, Gujarat 380027 Time: 10am to 5 pm

  5. Kankaria Lake Its a Best place in Ahmedabad for family day out and one day picnic. Authorities have managed to keep this place very clean. I took a full round of the lake and it's an amazing experience. I must say it's quite long though. They have lots of other stuff to enjoy and you can have some delicious street food plus there is a nocturnal zoo and normal zoo as well. The Combined fee for both of them is 50rs. Plus they have some adventure sports activities as well and also a small theme park. Overall it was a superb experience. But there's some problems with parking. All I can say is Kankaria lake and surroundings are filled with lots of Fun, Food, Amusement Park, Toy Train, zoo , water Ride balloon & streamer, Horror House, etc. Location: Maninagar, Ahmedabad, Gujarat Time: Evening Time Fees: Adults ( Rs. 10) and Children aged 5 to 15 ( Rs. 5) and Children below 5 years ( Free)

  6. Lukshmi Vilas Palace It's a very Beautiful place, well maintained and clean. The palace has 2 segments to visit. One is the palace itself and the other is a museum. It is the best and must visit place in vadodara. It's all about the Gaikwad Kings. Taking photographs is allowed but only from outside , inside photography is prohibited , there is some heavy fine too. Make sure to take the audio player guide , available in many languages (it's included in the ticket)as it will take your experience to the next level. I specifically liked the audio guide feature available which helped me know about the palace, the exhibits, rooms and history associated. The rooms are well maintained and the local people around are very helpful. Location: J N Marg, Moti Baug, Vadodara, Gujarat 390001 Time: 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM (Closed on Mondays and public holidays) Fees: Palace fees: INR 150. Museum fees: INR 60.

  7. Rani Ki Vav Must visit this amazing historical place of our Gujarat. Very Clean and well managed heritage site. Good architecture work. Very well maintained park around with a lot of birds chirping to give you that calming and soothing feel. It's a great place that shows indian craftsmanship skills. The guides are not highly educated but know enough for us to understand the moral of making this beautiful place. Every single statue is made on basis of our religious culture of hindu's and is amazingly beautiful visiting once is worth the time and evening/dawn would be the best time to visit.I do recommend taking the locally available guides who are ASI certified. It has a nice garden to sit and relax. The monument itself is very grand and awe inspiring. Location: Mohan Nagar Society, Mohan Nagar Society, Patan, Gujarat 384265 Time: 6 AM - 6 PM Fees: Rs. 40 (Indians) and Rs. 600 ( for foreigner)

  8. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel statue Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's statue or known as the Statue of Unity. It's a Beautiful statue of The Great Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. It has a lift that will take you to the heart of the statue from where you can have an amazing view of nature. No food is allowed inside.
