  2. Skills to Maintain The Jonas brothers are all different ages and different heights. Nick Jonas is 524.2 cm tall, Joe Jonas is 526.31 cm tall and Kevin is 524. 12 cm tall. • How are SKILLS with decimals different than with whole numbers? Think, Pair, and Share your Answers!!!

  3. Operations Solve each problem remembering that operation rules still apply, but now keep the decimal’s movement in your mind. Hint, Hint…Think of multiples of 10…. • How are OPERATIONS with decimals different than with whole numbers? Think, Pair, and Share your Answers!

  4. Modeling with Base Ten Blocks • Which blocks represent ONES, TENTHS and HUNDREDTHS? Now, let’s go back and model The problems from the last slide! Watch Ms. Bloxson first!

Activity Review * What are the differences with SKILLS and operations between DECIMALS and WHOLE NUMBERS? * MODELED using BASE TEN BLOCKS addition, subtraction, but we focused on multiplication. * Solved Word Problems * JOURNALING!!! Not hard enough, then try these EXTENSION tasks… 1. Find out why we need to count the digits to the right of the decimal place. 2. MODEL a division problem with the BASE TEN BLOCKS! • After you and your partner have finished your Problem Solving Page, then take out your Math Journal and respond to the follow questions.
