  1. Early Bird Frequent mistakes

  2. Some English words do not form the plural by adding an “S”. They have got an specific form. For example: One person Two PEOPLE Irregular plurals.

  3. Personis always singular. A person is studying. A person studies. It works like an ordinary 3rd person singular People are always plural. People are studying People study. It works like THEY PERSON/ PEOPLE

  4. One child One kid Four children Four kids CHILD/ CHILDREN

  5. CAPITAL LETTERS In English we ALWAYS write in capital letters: • The 1st person singular: I • Languages: Basque, Italian, English, Spanish… • The days of the week: Monday, Tuesday… • The months: October, November…

  6. Introducing the task Useful sentences: • “I’m going to speak about…” • “I’m going to talk about…” • “I’m going to explain…”

  7. Present Simple: 3rd person sing. • Remember to check your task before sending it. • Look for these subjects: HE, SHE, IT. And check that you have added an “S” to the verb. • When you are describing a game or activity, use the PS.

  8. Subject pronouns: He She 3rd person singular: PRONOUNS.

  9. Object Pronouns Him “Give him the present” Possessive Pronouns His “These are his keys” Her “Give her the present” Her “These are her keys”

  10. The years • In English you don’t HAVE years, you ARE the years. I’m 29 years old. She is 15 years old. • You can also say: A 9 year-old child.

  11. Play is a verb Game is a noun PLAY & GAME“let’s play a game!”

  12. Present Simple and Continuous • We use the Present Simple to describe actions • We use the Present Continuous to describe actions happening at the Of speaking: • To form the PS we need: • To form the PC we need: EVERYDAY MOMENT NOW SUBJECT + VERB HE/ SHE/ IT + VERB-S SUBJECT+ AM/ IS/ ARE+ VERB-ING

  13. The negative & question: Present simple • To form the negative we follow this structure: To form the question we follow this structure: SUBJECT + DON’T+ VERB HE/ SHE/IT (3RD PERSON) + DOESN’T + VERB DO + SUBJECT+ VERB? DOES + HE/SHE/ IT (3RD PERSON) + VERB?

  14. Present continuous • To form the negative we need the verb to be in the negative • To form the question we follow this structure ‘M NOT / AREN’T/ ISN’T AM/ IS / ARE + SUBJECT + VERB-ING?
