Because each of you is deaf or hard of hearing and you need to know how much these things cost and what is available to you! 

  6. What do I do with what I find? • After you find an item you wish to purchase, raise your hand and tell the teacher. • The teacher will help you put a picture of your item and the price of it onto a PowerPoint slide.

  7. Then what? • After you have all required items for the Webquest, you will need to make a list of the items you bought and the prices of each. • First do this on your own piece of paper. When it is ready, tell the teach and she will help you put this in your PowerPoint.

  16. Elements of Deafness • Students will be required to work in as part of their budget the purchase of an item that will benefit them as a deaf or hard of hearing individual. While learning about the importance of budget, the students will also learn the different prices for things they will likely purchase in the future. • Not included in this project, but role played the week before was interacting with hearing people at the stores you are purchasing items from. Deaf students will have to know how to interact with hearing people and how to get the items they need when they visit various stores.

What kinds of things should I not spend my money on? • Why is it important to save my money? • How does having a budget help me? • The students are analyzing a budget. • They are internalizing the important concepts of saving and spending. • They are rationalizing the purchases that they have made.
