  1. D.O.C. Population Update • The Department of Correction’s total incarcerated population on September 4, 2007is 19,043. This total is 168 more than were incarcerated on September 4, 2006, an increase of .89 percent.

  2. D.O.C. Population Update • The accused population on September 4, 2007 was 4407. This total is 228 below the September 4, 2006 total, a decrease of 5.1 percent.

  3. D.O.C. Population Update • The sentenced population (incarcerated) on September 4, 2007 is 14,636. This is 396 above the September 4, 2006 total, an increase of 2.7 percent.

  4. D.O.C. Population Update • The total number of offenders supervised in the community on Parole, Special Parole, Transitional Supervision, Transfer Parole and Transitional Placement is approximately 3,680. This reflects an approximate 3.35 percent increase in the past year.

  5. D.O.C. Population Update • The Department contracts for over 1,200 halfway house beds. These are filled virtually at all times. • This is a 75 percent increase in such beds since 2003.

  6. D.O.C. Population Update • The number of offenders on re-entry furlough on September 1, 2007 was 136. This is 95 below the September 1, 2006 total of 231, a 69.8 percent decrease.
