Gal 3:25-29 Life is Grace not Law: Part 2

In Galatians 3:25-29, these verses reveal seven truths about believers in Christ. We are all sons of God, clothed in Christ through baptism. There is no division between Jew or Greek, slave or free, male or female, as we are all one in Christ Jesus. Belonging to Christ makes us descendants of Abraham and heirs according to the promise.

  1. Gal 3:25-29 Life is Grace not Law: Part 2 25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. 26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's descendants, heirs according to promise.

  5. 27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 3rd - (all of you) have clothed yourselves with Christ have clothed - endyō - signifies "to enter into, get into," as into clothes, "to put on,“ another meaning of “endyo” – to sink, to go in we can by faith we “sink into” Christ - reckon or counting upon our being united with Christ - in this union we have Christ’s love, care, compassion, concern, longsuffering, etc.

  6. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 4th - for you* are all one in Christ Jesus. There is neither– Lit: “there cannot exist” Why is it impossible for there to exist Jew, Greek, slave, etc. Because of our union/baptism with Christ (item #2) and our baptism into one body (the church) see 1 Cor 12:13 you* are all one in Christ Jesus all – pas – none excepted one – lit: one man - see Eph. 4:4-6 one (one man) describes you* *Jew, Greek, slave, free man, male, female
