Application • Due THURSDAY, DECEMBER 1st AT 5 PM, by e-mail to golivos@rhsmith.umd.edu • Cover Letter • Describe your interest in the program • What skills/experiences do you bring to the table? • What you hope to get out of working with your client? • Clearly state which project is your top choice (your letter’s content should reflect that,) but provide a second choice as well • Resume

Interview • Interviews will occur DECEMBER 2nd TO DECEMBER 8th • Interviews will include both behavioral and case interview components • Be prepared to prove why you should represent Smith to your organization of choice! • Decisions will be communicated on December 10th • To ensure all respect to waitlisted individuals, you will have 24 hours to accept or decline your project assignment. • Teams will be finalized by December 16th 2011

Expectations • Selected consultants will kickoff the program with a day-long Consulting Boot Camp reviewing skills and sector-specific education. • There will be no physical meeting time for the class, but each team will be assigned an Expert Advisor who will meet with teams weekly at a set time and location. • Ultimately, each team will be delivering an oral and written report to the client either in-person or via teleconference

Service Area: Health/Human ServicesFunctional Area: Strategic Planning Mission:People that Deliver is a global initiative to improve health outcomes through workforce excellence in supply chain management. Developing country health systems typically rely on clinical health personnel with minimal competency in supply chain to manage health supplies; donor assistance is typically short term, focusing on short course training and external technical assistance. To respond to this common and systemic weakness of health systems, the initiative convenes a broad group of governments and organizations at the global and national level (including major health organizations such as WHO, USAID, UNICEF, the Global Fund, and the Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition) to unite to promote and implement sustainable systems for developing, recruiting and retaining qualified human resources for supply chain management.

Maryland Division of Parole and Probation Location : Baltimore, MD Service Area: Public/Societal BenefitFunctional Area: Operations Mission:Offenders on Parole and Probation, living in our neighborhoods and working in our local businesses, require supervision and guidance to keep focused on the ultimate goal of overcoming the "revolving door" of the criminal justice system. The Division of Parole and Probation (DPP) ensures these offenders are meeting this goal and upholding individual requirements set forth by courts and the Parole Commission.

Location : India Service Area: InternationalFunctional Area: Technology/Information Systems Mission: New Ventures is the World Resources Institute’s center for environmental entrepreneurship – providing business development services to environmentally-focused small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in emerging markets. New Ventures addresses the key barriers to “green” entrepreneurial growth by building in-country support networks for environmental enterprises and increasing their access to finance. The mission of New Ventures is to empower environmental entrepreneurs in emerging markets to develop market-based solutions that protect Earth’s environment and its capacity to provide for current and future generations.

The product is a portable shelter that provides privacy and protection from the elements. The shelters are waterproof, flame-retardant, and can fold open and closed in less than a minute with no assembly required. This provides instant space and shelter for those who have nothing. When not in use or when being transported, each unit can be folded into a size that is easily carried by a single person. Cardborigami's vision is to bridge the gap between design and humanity by attracting attention to social issues such as homelessness through design.
