  3. States of Matter: LIQUIDS • Particle take the shape of their container. • Particles have enough energy to move around each other. • Definite volume • NO definite shape

  4. States of Matter: GASES • Particles have enough energy to move around freely. • Gases can exert pressure and they are compressible. • Takes the shape and volume of a container. • NO definite volume • NO definite shape States of Matter

  5. States of matter: PLASMA • Most common state of matter in the universe. • Gas-like mixture of particles. • This occurs naturally on the sun and in stars. • NO definite volume • NO definite shape • On earth, plasma can be found in florescent light bulbs.
