  2. The 4-3 defense was created by Hall of Fame coach Tom Landry. • Defense consists of a fluid pass rusher, a good middle linebacker, and zone coverage. • Geared to stop the run, but has the players needed to force the quarterback into bad decisions.

  3. The 4-3 defense has four down lineman. Two defensive ends and two defensive tackles. Three linebackers, a Mike, Will, and a Same linebacker. Two cornerbacks and two safeties.
