    1. The Value of Shame Shame: A painful emotion caused by a strong sense of guilt or embarrassment. Isa. 5:20-21, Isaiah said “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! 21Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight.”

    2. What Causes the Feeling of Shame? Shame is a product of learning right and wrong. Rom. 6:20-23, Shame comes with knowledge Gen. 2:16-17, “…the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”

    3. With Greater Knowledge, Comes Greater Responsibilities Mark 4:24, “Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.” Heb. 5:12-14, Need to discern good from evil 2nd Cor. 7:9-10, Paul rejoiced that the Corinthians were shamed to repentance Pro. 11:2, “When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.”

    4. Why Do Some Feel No Shame? Some walk in ignorance Eph. 4:17-29, Put off the old, put on the new Some continue through wrongdoing, pride, and not caring Zeph. 3:5, “the unjust knows no shame” 1st Tim. 4:1-2, “…some will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron.”

    5. Conscience=Alarm Clock When clock stops, the alarm won’t work 1st Tim. 4.1-2, “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith,… Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron…” There was a time, not long ago… 1 Tim. 2:9-10, “…women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.” NKJV- “…Propriety & moderation …”

Nakedness is… Gen. 2:25, Adam and Eve considered naked by God after obtaining knowledge (not ashamed) Gen. 3:7-11, Sinned, made aprons, still naked Gen. 3:21, Not naked after given tunics by God Ex. 28:41-42; Isa. 47:2-3, Priest were told to wear “…linen breeches to cover their nakedness; from the loins even unto the thighs.” Loins: hips, groin, & lower abdomen Unto the thighs: Above the knees

    7. There was a time, not long ago, even the religious world felt shame with… Homosexuality Using God’s name in vain Involvement with lasciviousness and such like activities Consuming alcoholic beverages Divorcing for any reason Living together outside of marriage ETC.

    8. How Can We Develop Knowledge to Feel Shame? 2nd Pet. 1:5-10, Christian Graces 1st Cor. 15:58, “…be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord…” 2nd Tim. 2:15, “Study to show thyself approved unto God a work man that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Heb. 10:23, “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering…”
