Film Industry in India Largest Film Industry in the World in Terms of Number of Films Produced • Films are the most popular form of entertainment in India • Hindi films have the largest market – 245 out of 1000 movies produced in 2004 • On an average there are~6-7 songs per film • Out of an INR 10 Billion music industry ~ 60% is contributed by film based music • New Hindi film music has the largest market share with ~55% of the market, followed by devotional and regional language music
