1. Revive Us Again Before we begin… I don’t want people to think that I am some sort of church police officer. I know that the past couple of lessons and short talks I have given have been concerning the congregation. I have tried to point out things that I believe will help us. I know that many of the thoughts I have conveyed are shared with others in the congregation and I appreciate the sincerity that has been expressed regarding those topics. Today will be no different and some of the things you will hear, you have already heard. I apologize if this lessons seems too repetitive. However, I believe we have a great opportunity to bring some things to light that will prove things that have previously been stated. Before we begin… I don’t want people to think that I am some sort of church police officer. 3. We have been blessed with a GREAT opportunity! NOW WE HAVE TO KEEP GOING! We have just concluded a Gospel meeting. Even though we do not call these events “revivals”, I don’t hesitate to say that the congregation has been edified and built up during the course of this past week. And why not? Good powerful lessons admonishing us to stand up and do what is right Visited with brothers and sisters in Christ that we hardly get to see Wonderful wonderful singing (Who’s heart could resist being moved?)We have just concluded a Gospel meeting. 4. Some words of encouragement… 1 Peter 2:5 “Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.” 2 Timothy 3:12-14 “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;” I will not make much comment on these passages because they speak to us and do not need much explaining.I will not make much comment on these passages because they speak to us and do not need much explaining.

5. Some words of encouragement… (continued) 2 Thessalonians 2:15-17 “Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and establish you in every good word and work.” 1 Thessalonians “Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.” Many other passages relay the message of encouragement, telling us to keep on going. The word of God rings clear and true and should be an encouragement for us to continue on. I dare say that the Bible contains more words of encouragement than I can possibly utter. So I encourage you as we all should, to look to the Bible for encouragement daily. Many other passages relay the message of encouragement, telling us to keep on going. 6. How to Keep Going? more of the same… How to we keep the momentum of a meeting going? Simply, we need to do more of the same… Here are some of the things we did last week. How to we keep the momentum of a meeting going? Simply, we need to do more of the same… Here are some of the things we did last week.

7. Gospel Meeting Activities More spirited and lively singing More fellowship Daily studying of the scriptures Daily prayer Encouragement of the young MORE Singing Our singing this past week was incredible. I can’t recall hearing any better than last week. When the Bible says in 1 Cor 14:15 “What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.” I believe it is talking about the kind of singing we engaged in this past week. It has never ceased to amaze me, how the singing can sound so much more spirited on the Sunday morning of a meeting than it is on other occasions. Is not our singing in service to God? Then why should it be different when a preacher from out of town is in our midst? Song leaders must know that their performance is paramount to the edification of the congregation. Song selection is so important. We should sing songs that we all know and love often. Such will help everyone sing as we should. Pitch and Tempo are incredibly important. When songs are sung too high or low or are dragging along, people are not able to sing as they should. It is a frustrating thing when you want to sing out to God but you can’t because the song is being led half an octave too low. These are things that must be learned. If we need to work together to make sure the song leaders are capable of pitching songs or beating time, then we should. We sang more than usual and the service was better. This goes to show the importance of singing. While it may not be prudent for us to extend every service 15 or 30 minutes, I think we can do the following. On occasion, get together earlier or stay later to dedicate more time to singing. During our song service on the first Lord’s day, don’t interrupt the singing with scripture reading and commentaries. Allow the singing to continue and have it’s full effect upon us. We can have a 10 minute invitation at the close of the service including scripture and encouragement to those who need to obey the Lord. MORE Fellowship This past week shows that we can dedicate more time to spend with one another. I’d like to compliment the Raymond and Cathy for having everyone over this past Lord’s day, especially after having done the same just a couple of weeks ago. We need more of the same spirit. We spent every night together for an entire week (save Saturday). Wow, what an accomplishment! Surely we can make more time in our lives for one another. We were all here. What a wonderful week. Daily Scripture Reading This past week we studied about so many different subjects that are important to Christians. Family Persecution of Christians Responsibilities of Christians Work of Christians Encouragement to those old and young For those that can’t seem to find the time to study each day. If you were here, you did last week. This not only shows it can be done but shows the benefit. I think we can all say it was good to have studied from the Bible each night last week. Daily Prayer We certainly prayed a lot last week which gives us some idea of the meaning behind (1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJVR) Pray without ceasing. I would like to commend Alan for speaking up last week and asking to pray for Chuck during services. As I was not right there, I had already decided that the best action for me to take was to pray for him but Alan got the attention of the entire congregation. Surely, God was listening. For those who don’t pray every day. Just like studying, you did it last week. Encouragement of the young I would say that in almost every lesson last week there was some encouragement directed specifically to the young. We need to concentrate on encouraging the youth to please God Parents need to take heed to what the passages tell us about raising children.MORE Singing Our singing this past week was incredible. 8. We must simply continue on… “But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” James 1:25 “But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;” 2 Timothy 3:14 “Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.” 1 Timothy 4:16 “Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;” Colossians 4:2 “Let brotherly love continue.” Hebrews 13:1
