Eportfolio • EPortfolio- You will prepare your EPortfolio with a website of your choice. • On your Eportfolio website, you will enter completed projects under the appropriate standard. • You will begin with projects completed in C&I405 and continue to update your eportfolio as projects are completed. • You will successfully download or link artifacts and projects to each standard. • You must have these three sections as follows.

Components of the Portfolio • Section I: Philosophy Statement • Section II: Standards: • Artifacts and Reflective Statements Related to Meeting Standards • PTS, Professional Teaching Standards, • Technology Standards, TS • Language Arts Standards, LAS • Section III: Impact: • Artifacts and Reflective statements on Student Learning

Philosophy Statement • Written the first semester in the program and rewritten the final semester during student teaching • Addresses the Conceptual Framework: • Pillars: • (1) Establishing Community in Teaching and Learning Environments, • (2) Guiding the Development of Inquiring and Reflective Minds • Foundation: • (1) Commitment to Service, • (2) Understanding and Effective use of Technology • Articulates candidate’s beliefs and values as a teacher

Core Language Arts Standards for All Teachers • STANDARD 1 All teachers must know a broad range of literacy techniques and strategies for every aspect of communication and must be able to develop each student's ability to read, write, speak and listen to his or her potential within the demands of the discipline. • STANDARD 2 All teachers should model effective reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills during their direct and indirect instructional activities. The most important communicator in the classroom is the teacher, who should model English language arts skills. • STANDARD 3 All teachers should give constructive instruction and feedback to students in both written and oral contexts while being aware of diverse learnersユ needs.   8. Artifact & Reflective Statements • II. Artifacts and Reflective Statements Related to Meeting the Standards • Candidates must meet the ISBE standards criteria in order to earn a rating of meets expectations for graduation. • Note: One artifact may be used to document more than one standard, however, a reflective statement must be included for each standard. • Meets Expectations – for entries into your EPortfolio: • The artifact(s) selected must be an appropriate representation of the standard. • The reflective statement: • clearly identifies the standard(s) the artifact is addressing, states why the artifact was chosen, • states why the artifact is an appropriate representation of the standard(s) and, states what the artifact demonstrates about the candidate’s growth and development as a teacher.

Impact on Student Learning • Candidates must meet the following criteria in order to earn a rating of meets expectations. • Meets Expectations • The Artifact,work sample(s), selected clearly illustrates growth in P-12 student learning, • The reflective statement: • states why the work sample was chosen, states how the work sample made an impact on P-12 learning and, • describes how these activities have enhanced their ability to understand and assess student learning.

  11. Rules for Artifacts for Section II Student names must be removed or marked out Photos of students may be used with permission only (see cooperating teacher for school policy)

  12. Reflective Statements for Section II One reflective statement with each standard Double spaced with triple space between title and each heading 2 page minimum, 3 page maximum Correct grammar and punctuation Composed of paragraph responses addressing all of the following…

  13. Respond to the Following… 1. Fully state the standard you are addressing in bold text. Then write a paragraph explaining your knowledge and understanding of that standard--put the standard into your own words. 2. Explain how the artifact you chose demonstrates your understanding and application of the standard. A. If the artifact has been used in your practice, reflect upon how your teaching will change in the future to further meet the standard. -or- B. If the artifact has not been used in your practice, ie. a class assignment, reflect upon how your teaching will be impacted as a result of the assignment. 3. Conclude with a paragraph discussing how you are more prepared to Teach and Learn in a Diverse Society as a result of satisfactorily meeting the standard.

Create at least 3 larger sections for your portfolio I Philosophy statement II Artifacts and Reflective Statements Illinois Professional Teaching Standards Illinois Technology Standards Illinois Language Arts Standards III Impact on Student Learning A comprehensive copy of the IL Teaching Standards should begin each correlating standards section
