  4. Split up into three sections • Health and safety and basic hand tools • The use of basic hand tools and their maintenance • Manufacture of joinery components using basic joints

  5. Health and safety and basic hand tools • Safe use of basic tools (especially those that are sharp) • Material storage, lifting methods • Identify the use of basic tools

  6. The use of basic hand tools and their maintenance • Be able to measure and mark out work and create a cutting list • Be able to perform craft operations • Proper care in keeping tools sharp

  7. Manufacture of joinery components using basic joints • Selection of basic joints • Manufacture of a small item (Table)
