Our Informatics Workforce 2014 • Returns expected from 61 organisations with informatics staff across North West • As at 04/11/14, returns received from 57 organisations (93%) • No returns from: • Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust • Eastern Cheshire CCG • St Helens CCG • Trafford CCG

  4. Chief Clinical Information Officers • Total Number of CCIOs - 44 • Organisations with 1 - 32 • Organisations with more than 1 • Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust – 6 CCIOs • Bolton NHS Foundation Trust – 4 CCIOs • East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust – 2 CCIOs

  5. Our Informatics Workforce 2014 • Agreement exists between members of Network to share their workforce profile information • Encourages grading at similar levels • Starts the debate on collaborating over difficult to recruit roles • Helps to identify key areas for development

Qualifications explanation • Level 7 - Post Graduate/Masters Learning including credits towards these qualifications • Level 6 - Degree • Level 5 - Foundation Degree • Level 4 - Certificate of Higher Education • Level 3 - 2 x A Level (Grades A - C) or equivalent level of qualification • Level 2 - 5 x GCSEs (grades A - C) or equivalent level of qualification

  7. Qualifications BreakdownOf the 57 submitted returns, 55 submitted information on qualifications

  8. Improvements for next year • Category for Programme Managers who work across multiple disciplines • General category for “Other” to be included • Any others?

  9. Engagement • 61 organisations with informatics staff, 6 of which are CCGs with < 3 WTE. Of remaining 55: • 25 very engaged (45%) • 23 engaged on occasions (42%) • 7 not engaged (13%) Myth buster-the ISD Network is much more than just a course provider.
