The Gap in Attainment 2009, the 75% of NI GCSE entries were awarded at A*-C grade. 2009 just 56% of school leavers achieved 5+ GCSEs at A*-C including English & Maths. 2008, 14.4% boys from controlled schools in receipt of FSM achieve 5+ GCSE’s A*-C compared to 27.3% boys in receipt of FSM from the maintained schools THE CONTEXT
