  1. ISE 5-14 Website – What’s it got for you? Home Page – http://www.ise5-14.org.uk/Prim3/head2.htm Has direct links to the ISE 5-14 Forum, latest news, featured websites, forthcoming events, a powerful Planning Spreadsheet, Search options for the ISE website and the Web, other relevant websites and organisations, a Science Framework for Planning, important local points of interest on the ISE 5-14 website and Interactive Guidelines for all three components of Environmental Studies at all attainment levels plus those for Health Education and ICT. SETT 2004 Planning Spreadsheet This is accessible from a link on the Home Page (to registered users only) and is a key part of the ISE 5-14 Web Site. As well as showing the relationship between the Framework for Planning and the Science component of the Guidelines in Environ-mental Studies, it allows cross-referencing with the other components and relevant resources and references. You will need Microsoft Excel. By scanning across the spreadsheet (columns A-I remain fixed) relevant publication references can be found. SETT 2004 Interactive Guidelines The Guides for Teachers and Managers for Science, Social Subjects, Technology, Health Education and ICT have been made extremely accessible so that teachers can surf with ease through the Attainment Outcomes, Strands and Attainment Targets and between each of the Attainment Levels A to F. Links are provided to the individual Target menus from the relevant part of the Science component of the Guidelines in Environmental Studies. SETT 2004

  2. ISE 5-14 Website – What’s it got for you? Science Framework for Planning This provides advice on learning experiences for P1 to S2. It is not intended to be prescriptive and therefore represents only one pathway of learning which is consistent with advice on effective teaching and learning within science education. Attainment Targets are arranged into Target Groups (see below) which may be accessed on the Home Page from a drop-down menu (below), via a larger menu for the visually impaired or by a numbered link on the Planning Spreadsheet (column C). SETT 2004 Framework for Planning – Target Groups The Framework for Planning illustrates suggested groupings of Attainment Targets from each of the three Attainment Outcomes in the Science component of the Environmental Studies Guidelines. To take account of teaching circumstances and workload, the groupings usually have Attainment Targets from two Attainment Levels. Progression to the next appropriate point within the Framework for Planning is also suggested. This also appears in columns F to H of the Planning Spreadsheet SETT 2004 Framework for Planning – Target Menus Each Target has a Target menu (see also column E of the Planning Spreadsheet) which provides links to Development of the Target, Teacher’s Guide, Resources, Homework, Skills, Equipment List, Assessment, CPD and Safety. This site is not presented to you as the finished article. However, the Target Menus now contain useful info & links in Development of Target, Resources, Equipment & Teacher's Notes. In others you'll see that well-worn phrase "under development". SETT 2004
