Timing • From the moment the political and economic changes started in Central and Eastern Europe Unizo started having contacts with organisations in those countries • First mainly incoming visitors • Then through projects co-financed by the cooperation programme of the government of Flanders • First project started in 1997 • Still going on

  4. Geografic • Projects in : • Hungary • Sint-Petersburg • Poland • Estonia • Bulgaria • Slovenia • Croatia • Romania (presented two weeks ago)

  5. Objectives • First projects : transfer of know-how related to specific services : setting up European/international departement, accompanying companies, mainly starters • Nowadays : transfer of know how related to the general management and services of an SME-organisation (emphasis on specific services possible)

  6. Partners • Training institutes, regional or local government, nowadays focus on other SME-organisations (members of UEAPME)

  7. More bilateral exchanges – we gain know-how too Shift of transfer to working with SME-organisations Evolution

  8. Other projects • Framework of the EIC network • Prince Programme
