Today: How as the coverage changed and why? • Focus on comparing a story fromearly on in the coverage of your issue or event, with a story from within the last seven days. • How have the news aspects of depth of coverage, placement of coverage and style of coverage changed or stayed the same? • Discuss whyyou think that might be in relation to news values/news worthiness.

The tv news is covering it, news papers, online news Choose an example story: What was the depth & placement of their coverage? (and key focus) The report isnt very detailed as the websites writers do not have enough information on the event because the event has just occurred the day before the article What was the style of the coverage? It was informal because they were giving as much information as they could and it was to early to have an opinion on it so it was strictly information What news values influenced the coverage? The news covers the story as the plot thickens, online media, news papers Choose an example story: What was the depth & placement of their coverage? (and key focus) They covered the movie being made about the Missing flight, they mentioned that the families will be unaffected by the film and they also mentioned that the director of the film has been given harsh critisism due to his film. What was the style of the coverage? The story has developed as they learn more and more about the flight, they have a lot more information and so the director of the film can make a movie on the event What news values influenced the coverage? The story has continunuity because it has been going on as more information develops
