  2. THE FIVE THEMES OF GEOGRAPHY 1. LOCATION Where is it? How do I get there? • Absolute Location • 1. Latitude/Longitude – Ex. Gillette is located at 44° 35′ N, 105° 54′ W. How do I find the absolute location of a place?

  3. B. Relative Location – Location of a place in relation to something else. Time, direction, distance Ex. I live by the Little Store. • Describe the relative location of: • The school (direction) • Your house (distance) • Gillette (time) Keys: next to, east of, across the street from, etc.

  4. 2. Place What is it like here? • Places are defined by: • physical features - landforms, climate, flora and fauna What are some physical features of Gillette, Wyoming?
